Shehla Rashid’s father accuses her of indulging in anti-national and criminal activities

As per local news reports, Shehla Rashid’s father Abdul Rashid Shora has filed a written complaint with the Jammu and Kashmir (J&K) DGP (Director General of Police) alleging a threat to his life from his own daughter and has asked the police to also probe her bank accounts along with her email accounts, mysterious financial dealings and the properties bought by her in Delhi stating that his daughter was indulging in criminal activities.

Shehla Rashid’s father has also requested the J&K Police to provide him security cover in view of the threat to his life from his daughter and other family members and additionally claimed that his house is being used for anti-national activities.

In his written complaint, Abdul has alleged threats to his life from Shehla, her elder sister Asma and his wife Zubaida as well as Shehla’s security guard Sakib Ahmad. His complaint states that his life has been under a constant threat from 2017 onwards when Shehla, who was then with the CPI-M (Communist Party of India – Marxist), plunged into J&K politics.

Her father has also stated that a couple of months before their arrest under the UAPA (Unlawful Activities Prevention Act) for terror funding, Zahoor Vatali and ex-MLA Rasheed Engineer called him, Abdul Shora, for a meeting at the former’s Srinagar residence in June 2017 and offered him ₹3 crores to grant permission for Shehla to join them. He says that though he turned down the offer his wife and elder daughter encouraged Shehla who he says had accepted the said amount in cash and warned against disclosing the same as it would put his life at risk.

He further says “I strongly believe that there are anti-national activities going on in my house, the characters involved in this plan are my daughters, my wife and Shehla’s security man namely Sakib Ahmad”. He has pointed out that Shehla and his wife hatched a conspiracy to throw him out of the house by filing a domestic violence complaint as he was against Shehla’s suspicious, unlawful and anti-national activities.

Shehla Rashid’s father has said in his letter “I, therefore, humbly request you to ensure my personal security and kindly direct the concerned police station to extend their support to me in getting back to my house as per court order. He said I also request you to order investigations into the conduct of Sakib and his associates, bank details of Shehla Rashid, Asma Rashid and Zubeida and Sakib, property acquired by them at New Delhi, their email accounts, and their mysterious financial dealing with Feroze Peerzada, Zahoor Watali and Rashid Engineer and notorious activities being done by them in the name of  Empowerment of Women and Social justice NGO”.

Shehla Rashid has a long history of peddling fake news as well as indulging in anti-national activities. Earlier she was caught for spreading fake news against the Bharatiya Army. Sedition charges were slapped against her for spreading misinformation with regards to the Kashmir situation after Article 370 was repealed.

Shehla’s father has made some very serious allegations that need to be probed by competent central agencies including the NIA (National Investigation Agency) considering the terror angle involved and also because this concerns the nation’s security.
