Sharik Hameed rapes and robs Hindu girl in Kolkata, had lured her with Indigo Airlines job offer via FB – arrested from Jamshedpur

One Sharik Hameed from Jamshedpur promised a young lady a job with Indigo airlines, met and raped her, and stole her jewelry. The victim is from Kolkata, and she approached the police. Kolkata police later arrested Hameed from Jamshedpur and took him to Kolkata.

Sub-inspector S Pal from Bara Bazar in Kolkata confirmed that Hameed lured the victim on Facebook. He introduced himself as an officer working for Indigo Airlines, and the unsuspecting victim handed over her phone number to him. He promised the lady a job with the airlines, and she fell for the trap.

Hameed lived in a rented house at Dhatkidih in Jamshedpur. He traveled to Kolkata, hired a guest house, and invited the lady to his room. Once there, he raped her, robbed her of her gold chain and bracelet, and absconded.

The victim approached the police and filed a complaint on April 8 that Hameed cheated on her, raped and robbed her of jewelry worth Rs. 2.5 lakhs. Police searched the guest house, and CCTV footage confirmed the presence and identity of Hameed. They took her statement and began investigating.

Investigators found that the rapist was in Jamshedpur. Kolkata police raided the place with help from Bistupur police and arrested Hameed. They took him to Kolkata, conducted a medical examination, and a local magistrate remanded Hameed to judicial custody.

It is not clear if they recovered the stolen gold or whether he is an employee of Indigo airlines.
