SC youth Swapnil paid the price for being in a relationship with a Muslim woman. As per reports, Nanded’s Vasant Nagar area resident Swapnil Nageshwar and his Muslim girlfriend were attacked on the afternoon of November 21 by a mob of 10 Muslims with sticks and iron rods. Swapnil received serious injuries leading to his death.
It has been confirmed that an FIR has been filed against 10 persons by the Nanded police in connection with the case. “On Monday (November 21) the two were spotted by the Muslim mob as they were stepping out of a hotel in the city. 8-10 Muslims attacked the duo and questioned the victim about what he was doing with the woman. They then forcibly took the couple in their vehicle to a spot located a few kilometres away where they were brutally beaten up. Swapnil got fatally injured and subsequently lost his life”, the police said.
Nanded city’s Airport police registered an FIR against the accused under IPC Section 302 (murder) based on the complaint of his family. On Thursday (November 24), the accused were sent to 10 days of police custody. According to Tarun Bharat, initial investigations reveal the attackers are not related to the girl.
on the basis of the police complaint filed, seven accused have been arrested and sent to 10 days of police remand. Those arrested have been identified as Shaibaz Khan Ejaz Khan, Mohammad Sadam Mohammad Sajid Qureshi, Mohammad Usama Mohammad Sajid Qureshi, Sheikh Ayan Sheikh Imam, Sohail Khan Saheb Khan, Syed Faran alias Sahil Syed Mumtaz and Ubaid Khan Yunus Khan.
Such incidents are being repeatedly reported from Maharashtra. A month ago in Ahmednagar’s Srirampur, a vanvasi youth Deepak Barde and a Muslim girl fell in love with each other and got married. However, the girl’s family was opposed to the alliance and hence they killed Deepak. Recently, the case of SC youth Deepak Sonwane, who fell in love with a Muslim girl, being forcibly circumcised and threatened to embrace Islam or pay 25 lakhs came to the fore from Sambhajinagar.
A similar situation is seen in Nanded where too an SC youth has been killed. It is pertinent to note that the accused in all these three places are fundamentalist Muslims.
“The Shraddha Walkar murder case is being discussed in society. It is surprising that the Communists and the so-called progressives as well as Ambedkarist organizations remain conveniently silent after such incidents. This shows how inflammatory Islamic fundamentalism is and how serious its consequences are. Society needs to observe and contemplate on these cases and strict action should be taken in all three cases”, Tarun Bharat quoted Vivek Vichar Manch’s State Convener Sagar Shinde as saying.
