An incident of a Hindu family being assaulted by Monty Sayyed, Jameer Sayyed, and three minors, along with a large Muslim mob, was reported from Maharashtra’s Pune. The assault that occurred over a trivial matter was captured on camera.

The complaint was filed by Ravi Sukhram Vishwakarma, whose family, including aged parents, were assaulted. The incident occurred on June 16 (Bakri Eid eve) at 7 PM. The FIR (First Information Report) states that Ravi’s three-year-old daughter was riding her cycle outside their house when three Muslim youths were playing with the goat they had bought for Bakri Eid.

According to the complaint filed by Ravi Vishwakarma, the incident occurred on the evening of Sunday, June 16th, when a 3-year-old Hindu girl from his family was playing in the courtyard. Meanwhile, 3-4 minor boys from the local Muslim community were playing with goats intended for slaughter on Bakrid.

One of the goats ran into the girl, prompting her family to rush out and investigate. When they questioned the boys, an argument ensued, leading to the boys assaulting the Hindu family. The Hindu family asked the boys to avoid playing with animals on the street to prevent harm to small children, but the boys responded by throwing a bicycle at the complainant’s head and verbally abusing his family.

The boys then called their elders, Monty Sayyed, 38, and Jameer Sayyed, 40, who arrived and began attacking the Hindu family. Members of the minority community allegedly pelted stones and used rods and sticks in the assault.

The complainant managed to call the police, who rescued the family and took them to the hospital for treatment. An FIR was filed against five members of the minority community, although around 10-20 people were involved in the attack, as confirmed by CCTV footage obtained by OpIndia.

The Pune Police have charged the accused under sections 143 (unlawful assembly), 147 (rioting), 149, 323 (voluntarily causing hurt), 504 (intentional insult or provocation), and 337 of the Indian Penal Code, 1860. The FIR includes three minors and two adults, identified as Monty Sayyed and Jameer Sayyed. Further investigations are ongoing.

Hindu Samaj has called for a protest march condemning the incident on June 23 at 11 morning. The call for protest march indicates an awakening among Hindus. When Hindus come together it would send a strong message that such attacks would not be tolerated.
