A vanvasi Hindu girl from the Bhil community was repeatedly raped by her Muslim neighbour Daood in Rajasthan’s Jhalawar district. He also forced the girl to take abortion pills due to which her unborn foetus died.
The accused is currently absconding. Police has lodged a case under IPC Section 376, 313, 315 and SC/ST Act. They are awaiting the result of medical tests to confirm the girl’s age, and if she turns out to be a minor POCSO Act will also be applied.
The matter came to light when the girl complained of stomach ache. When the family took her to a doctor, they were shocked to find that she was 6 months pregnant, but the unborn foetus was dead.
The accused Daood is absconding.
