“People share harrowing experiences with NCSC panel chief during his visit to Sandeshkali”, Myind, February 15, 2024:

“During a visit to Sandeshkhali in West Bengal’s North 24 Parganas district, members of the panel were informed about the ‘harrowing experiences’ by the locals, stated Arun Halder, Chairman of the National Commission for Scheduled Castes (NCSC).

Protests have erupted in Sandeshkhali due to allegations of atrocities committed by leaders of the ruling TMC on the local population.

Under the leadership of Arun Halder, the team engaged in discussions with residents of the area, which primarily consists of individuals from Scheduled Caste and other backward communities…..”
