Narcotic Jihad reported from Kerala

Yet another case of grooming for narcotic jihad was reported from Kerala. In a joint operation on Saturday, the District Anti-Narcotics Special Action Force (DANSAF) and the local police detained five people, including a woman, with MDMA and marijuana.

Those detained include Lakshadweep natives Muhammed Thahir Hussain (24), Naval Rahman (23), Siraj CP (24), and Althaf (24) of Thrissur. The lady is Sonu Sebastian (23) from Alappuzha.

Incidents of Hindu and Christian girls falling into the hands of drug mafias are increasing as they get involved in grooming jihad. Girls who are groomed later convert to Islam and become victims of drug mafias. Sebastian is the only lady in the group; the rest are Muslim men.

In April 2022, Muhammed Ajnas (24) from Kannur groomed Sebastian and registered under the Special Marriage act. He allegedly sold the lady to the narcotic jihadis based out of Lakshadweep. They used her as a carrier to move their drugs, and she lived with them.

NCB conducted the raids and made the arrests in response to information learned while the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) questioned a smuggler named Akbar. Akbar was caught smuggling marijuana to Lakshadweep when the CISF detained him. He allegedly revealed details on the other suspects residing in a lodge in Ernakulam.

According to K.A. Abdul Salam, assistant commissioner of the narcotics cell, a thorough investigation is being conducted to determine the source of the substances.

Hindu and Christian girls are lured into a trap by pretending to be in love and used for terrorist activities and drug smuggling. Such incidents have been reported earlier from different parts of the state. Various organizations have protested this issue.

Corruption and rot in the system have ensured that hard drugs are freely available throughout the state. Excise officials rarely make arrests unless someone snitches on a rival gang of drug-runners. The local government denies that drug and grooming jihad even exists.

We cannot stop such incidents without strong laws against grooming/ narcotic Jihad and adequately implementing the laws. There are allegations that the communist government is giving support to Islamic extremism.
