A stalker stabbed a school girl multiple times for opposing his stalking and molesting her friend in Pratappur village, Gopalganj district, Bihar. The girl, a student of class eight, was attacked by the youth identified as ‘Gudda’, son of Asraf Ali, while she was returning from the Pratappur Maktab School on Sunday.
The incident was captured by a nearby CCTV on the spot of the incident. The accused can be seen stabbing the girl multiple times in a matter of seconds. Identified as Khushnuma Praveen in this report, she has been referred to a Gorakhpur hospital in critical condition.
The accused had been harassing the victim’s friend for a long time. It appears that he too was a student of the same school, although Dainik Jagran states that he had jumped over the school boundary wall to harass Khushnuma’s friend. The brave girl decided to stand up for her friend and complained to the school authorities.
Headmaster Rakesh Kumar Verma caught the accused and made him apologize to the girl he was stalking. Angered by this, the youth decided to take revenge on the victim. The school had some classes on Sunday too, and that is when he decided to attack her as she was returning home.
The next day, angry friends and relatives of the victim vandalized the accused’s house and set fire to their belongings. Gudda and his family have fled the village. The mob then created a ruckus at the school too, and behaved indecently with teachers for no reason.
The teachers explained that they had punished the youth, but had no inkling that he would commit such a crime. The matter calmed down only when senior education department and police officials reached the spot.
