Muslim man kills Hindu live-in partner, had likely groomed her since she was minor – TOI hides victim’s name

A Muslim man named Hassan Pathan had been arrested for killing his live-in partner Neha Gupta. The DN Nagar Police Station took him on Monday while adding that Gupta was murdered after an argument between the two.

As per reports, the police in their statement mentioned that Gupta was a caretaker while her live-in partner Pathan worked as a carpenter. The police further confirmed that the two had been staying together in Andheri’s Gaondevi Dongar area for the past couple of months. As the argument between the two on Sunday night turned ugly, Patha allegedly slit Neha’s throat using a knife.

The victim was rushed to Cooper hospital but couldn’t be rescued. The police took Pathan into custody after they were alerted by hospital authorities. He was produced before the court on Monday and remanded to police custody subsequently.

ToI hides Hindu victim’s identity

When it comes to grooming we can expect mainstream media (MSM) to play foul and ToI has lived up to it in this case as well. As is their wont, ToI conveniently hid the name of the victim in its report.

As is evident from the above report, ToI’s Mumbai edition hasn’t mentioned the Hindu victim’s name. Additionally, it appears from the report that the victim was a minor when she entered into the relationship thereby suggesting that Pathan had groomed Neha. Journalist ethics can hardly be expected from ToI which is known for its anti-Hindu reporting.

Only recently, the publication had twisted the name of the Muslim accused to represent him as a Hindu. It also often uses pictures of Hindu priests when the accused are either Christian padres or maulvis. Such unethical journalism often goes unchallenged as the majority population chooses to ignore the same. MSM needs to be held accountable and reporting half-truths as in the present case needs to be questioned.
