A Muslim youth has been arrested for hoisting Pakistan’s national flag at his house in Kushinagar, UP.
“We’ve registered a case and one person has been arrested. Further action is being taken”, said Ritesh Kumar Singh, Additional Superintendent of Police, Kushinagar, as per news agency ANI.
As per ZeeNews, the incident happened at Bedupar Mustkil village in Tarya Sujan police station area of this district in north eastern UP which is close to Nepal border. The flag was hoisted by one Rafiq Alam on top of his two-storey house. After the video went viral, police sprung into action and arrested one accused involved in the act.
On Friday, Rafiq and his sister returned home after finishing celebrating the festival of Moharram. They first asked their two minor nephews – aged 9 and 6 – to hoist the Pakistani flag. Later, a 21-year-old member of the household hoisted the flag on the roof of the house.
The family fled after the traitorous act went viral in the locality. Police has managed to arrest one person, and is looking out for the rest.
