“Moradabad Aadhaar Scam: SP worker Wajid Malik arrested for modifying IDs; Police reports links to Sambhal violence”, Organiser, March 24, 2025:

“A major scam involving the illegal modification and issuance of fake Aadhaar cards has been uncovered in Moradabad’s Bilari area, leading to the arrest of Wajid Malik, a Samajwadi Party (SP) worker. Malik is accused of making fraudulent changes to thousands of Aadhaar cards, including altering addresses and other personal details, in the aftermath of the Sambhal violence.

The incident came to light after local resident Vijay Kumar filed a complaint with the police regarding the scam. Kumar, who had visited Malik’s Aadhar centre, claimed that he demanded Rs 3,000 to make corrections to his Aadhar card.

A video of a heated altercation between the victims and individuals involved in the fraudulent activities went viral on social media…….”
