A disturbing Love Jihad case has been reported again in Bengaluru, where a Hindu woman has accused an Islamist man named Usman of extreme physical violence, forced Islamic conversion attempts, blackmail, financial exploitation, and death threats of a brutal nature.
According to the survivor, Usman warned her that if she did not convert to Islam, he would “kill her, cut her into 32 pieces like the Delhi model, store them in a refrigerator, and then marry someone else.” As per Kannada Prabha reports, she alleged that he repeatedly assaulted her, threatened her life, and used her private photographs to intimidate and silence her.
The incident falls under the jurisdiction of the Suddaguntepalya Police Station, where the woman has filed a formal complaint accusing Usman of coercion, torture, and continuous pressure to convert to Islam before marriage.
Death threats; forced-conversion demand
The survivor stated that she met Usman two years ago through mutual friends. Though she initially refused his proposal, citing community differences, Usman allegedly threatened to commit suicide, emotionally manipulating her until she eventually accepted the relationship. For the past 1.5 years, the two had been living together in a live-in relationship.
The woman says Usman initially told her conversion was unnecessary and that they could marry without any religious change. But once she committed to him, his behavior allegedly changed drastically. When she asked him to formalize the relationship through marriage, he allegedly became violent and declared that he would only marry her if she converted to Islam. Upon her refusal, he beat her and issued death threats.
Blackmail for money and conversion
She further accused him of extorting ₹12.20 lakh from her, seizing her gold jewelry, and hiding it. Over time, she discovered that he was a drug addict and that he had been sexually assaulting her while simultaneously blackmailing her with her private photographs. Traumatized by the continuous abuse, the survivor claims she attempted suicide twice. She had lodged a complaint earlier in March but alleges that police did not take adequate action. She told the media that despite her detailed complaints, an FIR was not filed properly, charges were not framed, and she has received no justice so far.
Fighting tears, she stated, “I am being tortured endlessly. I am asking for help, but the police are not responding. Please give me justice.”
The Bengaluru case has raised fears that it could have escalated into one of the horrific incidents that shocked the nation in recent years. Similar patterns have been seen before, such as the Shraddha Walkar murder case in Delhi, where Aftab Amin Poonawalla was arrested for killing his live-in partner and disposing of her remains. These high-profile cases exposed the extreme levels of Islamist violence some victims faced after rejecting coercion, threats, or manipulation. Against this backdrop, the threats issued to the Hindu girl in the present case take on an even more alarming seriousness, suggesting the potential for severe harm had action not been taken in time.
