Kydganj police in UP’s Prayagraj have booked one Mohammed Shahid for reportedly sexually exploiting a minor and forcing her to convert to Islam. The police have registered a case under sections of rape, fraud, POCSO Act, and prohibition of unlawful religious conversion.
A report by the Times of India (ToI) on the matter says:
A teacher in the Kydganj area hails from Mau in the Gazipur district of the state. In her complaint, she has alleged that Mohd Shahid of Mau lured her minor daughter five years back. Shahid married the girl after luring her to convert to his religion in 2017 and sexually exploited her. She recently realized that she was duped by the accused and raised objections against her exploitation.
However, Shahid threatened her of making her videos viral on social media. The girl then approached the police and gave a complaint. SP city Dinesh Kumar Singh said Shahid was arrested on Saturday and has been sent to jail.
