Minor girl groomed over Snapchat by Malappuram native, found in TN

Another case of grooming jihad of a minor has been reported from Kerala. Malappuram native Manaf abducted an underage girl and was arrested from Nagercoil in TN. The young girl was barely conscious and her nose was bleeding when the police found her.

Manaf had earlier taken the minor girl who hails from Vellarikundu in the high ranges of Kasargode district. The girl who left for school on Tuesday failed to return back home and that is when her father approached the police.

The 17-year-old victim is a student of the Balanthodu government higher secondary school. Cyber cell tracked Manaf’s location and the two were sighted at Virudhunagar railway station. Rajapuram police officers from Kasargode with help from the railway police and railway protection force arrested the accused from Nagercoil.

The victim’s parents had purchased her a mobile phone for her online classes. Manaf took advantage and groomed her using the social media app Snapchat. Police are investigating why they went to Nagercoil, at the southern tip of Bharat. It is also suspected that he assaulted her.

The number of such cases are on the rise. Few days back, two Muslim youth from Malappuram were arrested for grooming minor girls living in and around the temple town of Guruvayur. The accused would coerce girls to appear nude in online video calls, and later use those videos to blackmail them. Last month, two Hindu 14-year-old twin sisters had gone missing from Palakkad district along with two Muslim classmates.

However, Muslim girls eloping with boys from their own community is rare. Islamists pretending love and trapping Hindu/ Christian girls is occurring with sickening regularity, with many such perpetrators from the Muslim-majority district of Malappuram.

The communists and like-minded parties are well aware of this menace but are in denial. When will the Kerala administration wake up and end this hazard?
