A minor girl was doused with acid in her home after she snubbed Rahil aka Rohil Khan’s advances. The girl was referred to Meerut Hospital due to severity of burns while the accused Rahil Khan was arrested by UP police after a brief encounter.
Everyday, we witness ordeals of Hindu, specially minor, girls who are stalked or ensnared by Muslim youth. These crimes fit the pattern of grooming, which is defined as the criminal activity of becoming friends with a child in order to try to persuade the child to have a sexual relationship. When the perpetrator is a Muslim, there is also the additional angle of trying to convert the girl into Islam and coerce her into marriage after which she can also get sexually exploited by other family members. Colloquially, this crime is termed ‘Love Jihad’ across Bharat.
Often, when the girl discovers the true identity of the man and wants to discontinue the relationship, she is beaten, killed or maimed for life. Just a day after brutal murder of Neetu by stalker Laik Khan, there is another incident reported from Hapur’s Simbhawali jurisdiction.
As reported in ABP Live, a minor girl was doing house chores in Faridpur village when Rahil Khan, son of Nur Mohammad, entered the house by climbing a low wall and poured acid or some corrosive chemical on the girl. Rahil used to talk to the girl under false name of Rahul earlier but when the girl came to know his true name, she resisted his advances and stopped talking to him. Enraged to see her walking away from him, Rahil decided to teach her a lesson and scarred her for life with an acid attack.
On hearing the girl’s cries, the family rushed to the spot and chased Rahil Khan but he managed to slip away leaving his bicycle behind. The villagers agitated and put pressure on police to arrest the culprit at earliest. After 6 hours of police action, they managed to nab him after a brief encounter. As narrated by Reporter Arif Ali in this video, Rahil also fired at police to evade arrest. Despite the firing, police managed to subdue him. Rahil was injured in the encounter and was hospitalized after being taken into custody.

This is second acid attack on a girl in Simbhawali area in a month. Earlier in January as well, a girl was attacked with acid at her home.
