Another case of molestation on board a running bus was reported from Kerala. A young woman complained of sexual assault on a Kerala State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) bus. The bus driver himself molested the woman.
Based on the victim’s complaint, the Kunnamangalam police arrested Ibrahim, a native of Karanthur in Kozhikode district. Incidentally, Ibrahim was produced in court on Wednesday and was granted bail.
The incident occurred in a Kozhikode Mananthavadi KSRTC bus around midnight on Tuesday. A lady complained that Ibrahim grabbed her while she was traveling by bus. She raised a ruckus, and when the bus reached Kunnamangalam, other passengers protested and informed the police. Meanwhile, another driver arrived from Kozhikode and continued the bus journey.
Police said the bus was full and going from Kozhikode to Mananthavadi. The complainant sat on the vehicle’s bonnet near the driver’s seat. The woman complained that Ibrahim sexually assaulted her while driving the bus. The police also stated that he confessed to the crime during detailed interrogation.
Are KSRTC Buses Unsafe For Women?
Earlier this week, HinduPost reported another attempt to molest a woman on a KSRTC bus from Malappuram in Kerala. Nizamuddin from Asmas House, a native of Vengad Kannur, was taken into police custody in the incident. The 24-year-old woman was sexually assaulted near Valanchery in Malappuram district.
We also reported how Kavil Savad Sha (27) of Kayakkody, Kozhikode, ran away from a KSRTC bus after sexually harassing a young model named Nandita Sankara at Ernakulam. Savad sat next to Nandita, unzipped, pulled out his private parts, and masturbated openly. The victim recorded the footage and uploaded it on her social media pages. The conductor and driver of the bus chased Savad, caught him, and handed over the pervert to the police.
Farhab Rapes Massage Center Employee at Manjeri
The Manjeri District Sessions Court in Malappuram district rejected the bail plea of a massage center manager who had conspired in the rape of a young woman working in the establishment. District Judge S Muralikrishna dismissed the bail plea of Kunnakattil Kumaran (54) of Palakkad. A 19-year-old employee of a private Ayurveda treatment center in B P Angadi near Tirur was the victim of sexual harassment.
The first accused in the case, Farhab, a native of Tanur, tore the woman’s clothes and subjected her to sexual harassment while being massaged. The case against Kumaran is that he conspired with Farhab in this incident.
