It seems several Pakistani women are staying in Bhatkal who have either received Bharat’s citizenship or are awaiting them. Interestingly, marrying women from an enemy country and especially Karachi seems to have a long tradition in Bhatkal. The coastal town in Karnataka is infamous for the Bhatkal brothers, Riyaz and Iqbal Shahbandari, who were among the founders of the dreaded Islamic Mujahideen (IM) terror outfit, a spin off from the banned SIMI that was formed the moment UPA came to power. They later fled to Pakistan where they are living under ISI protection. IM carried out several serial blasts in Bharat from 2005-14 with the aim of creating an ‘Islamic caliphate’ across the Bharatiya sub-continent.
Khadija entered Bharat with the help of some agents and the couple was staying at Nawayath Colony in Bhatkal. She has been held for violating the provisions of The Foreigners Act, 1946 that empowers the Bharat government to detain a person until deportation back to their country of origin. The police are now investigating who the agents are and how they arranged/ forged the necessary paperwork.
Khadija was arrested on Thursday and on Sunday, the Karnataka Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa told reporters that he has directed officials to intensify the search for other Pakistani and Bangladeshi citizens who might be living illegally in the State.
Recently, 5 Bangladeshi Muslim criminals including a woman belonging to an international human trafficking racket were caught from Bengaluru for brutally torturing and raping a young girl. The gang had earlier forced the victim into prostitution instead of providing her the promised job they had offered when luring her to Bharat from Bangladesh. They hunted her down after she had managed to escape, gang-raped her, beat her, and shared those videos with their friends in Assam and West Bengal.
