The Madhya Pradesh Police has arrested a man named Junaid for attacking a Hindu lawyer in Indore. The lawyer Manish Gadkar is associated with Hindu Mahasabha, and he is known for fighting cases against Islamic terrorists and anti-Hindu elements. The police confirmed that Manish was beaten by 3 people, one of whom has been identified as Junaid.
As per reports, Junaid showed up at Manish’s Tilak Nagar office on pretext of consulting for his sibling’s bail plea. Manish requested that he may visit later as he was occupied. At night, Junaid brought two other youth with him and threatened Manish from posting social media posts against Islamists.
They threatened Manish that he would be killed if he doesn’t pay heed to their threats. After that they started beating Manish mercilessly. The victim had to be rushed to a nearby medical clinic where he is receiving treatment.
Manish gave a statement to the police where he mentioned that these people came under the guise of seeking help to attain their relative’s bail, but they were fully prepared to launch an attack on him. “They had planned the assault well in advance and executed it in the evening at my office”, he said. Reports suggest that the accused were keeping a continuous watch on Manish’s office for the past two days and executed the attack on Tuesday.
Here, it is important to note that Manish Gadkar is known for assisting the police in nabbing a Popular Front of India (PFI) spy in the Sadar Bazar area. Gadkar, in January this year, had complained against a ‘law student’, Sonu Mansuri, who was recording a video in the court during a case involving a Bajrang Dal leader.
Upon Manish’s complaint, the police arrested Sonu Mansuri and also recovered a huge amount of cash from her possession. Manish has been associated with Hindu Mahasabha and has been active in legal campaigns against illegal loudspeakers used for Azaan in Masjids.
The Sadar Bazar Police has arrested Junaid and two others for assaulting Manish, and further investigations into the case are underway.
It is very much clear that attackers were not happy with the way Manish was fighting against the malpractices of Islamists and terror outfits like PFI, and that’s why they attacked him to send a message to the society at large.
This is a worrisome trend as radical islamists have started attacking ordinary Hindus who are working for the welfare of our community. Government must take strict action against such elements, else everyone will be forced to take steps for self-defense.
