Muslim youths attacked Koushik (22) with stones & slit his throat because his dog barked at them: Cuttack, Odisha

A 22-year-old Hindu youth Koushik Dey was brutally attacked in Odisha’s Cuttack at 11 in the night on April 23. His crime? His dogs barked at the accused when Koushik had taken his pet for a walk. Kalinga Rights Forum (KRF) shared details regarding the incident.

As per reports, Koushik was walking his dogs near Gorkabar Pond and Hindol Kothi Park where the five accused were sitting. The dog barked at the accused who have been identified as Saik Dhauli, Saik Niyaz, Saik Qadir, Altaf & Rajesh Sethi.

The five abused the victim and threatened to kill him when his dog started barking. Following this, Koushik tried to save himself by running away when the five pursued the youth and attacked him with stones. They also called other Islamists to join them and subsequently, slit the youth’s throat with his knife.

In his complaint to the Bidanasi Police Station, Koushik narrated the entire sequence of events. He has also highlighted that he was abused and threatened. “Saik Dhauli took out a knife with the intention to kill me. He cut my throat due to which blood oozed out of my throat and I fell down there”, the complaint further notes.

He then mentions how his family members who came looking for him admitted him to SCB Medical where he was operated on and received fifteen stitches. He has asked the police to take legal action and bring the culprits to justice.
