Two Hindu youths were beaten up outside a mosque in Mumbai’s Malad. The duo were returning after attending the Gudi Padwa Kalash Yatra when they were assaulted for carrying the Kalash and Bhagwa (saffron) flag by the mob. The incident occurred in Malad’s Pathanwadi when the Hindu youths returned in a rickshaw.
The video of the incident was shared by news channels and social media handles. This incident is a stark reminder of how the so-called majority community is not allowed to celebrate their festivals in peace by the so-called peaceful community. Islamists want the license to block roads and ‘celebrate’ their festival, while they won’t allow Hindus to celebrate their festivals.
It is customary to carry out Shobha Yatra on Gudi Padwa, like several other Hindu festivals. According to TV9 Marathi, the two Hindu youths were part of the Gudi Padwa Shobha Yatra held in Malad East’s Pathanwadi. They were travelling in a rickshaw with the saffron flag, but they fell behind. A huge mob that gathered outside the mosque stopped the youths and assaulted them following an argument between both parties.
After the video of the assault went viral on social media, Bajrang Dal (BD) activists reached the Kurar Police Station to complain. They demanded that those involved in assaulting the two Hindu youths be booked for mob lynching. They also wanted the accused to be arrested. Furthermore, BD and VHP have threatened to undertake an agitation if those involved aren’t arrested within two days.
This incident is yet another reminder that no Hindu festival passes without Islamists attacking it. Stones have been pelted at Shobha Yatras, Hindus celebrating festivals have been attacked, and murtis/vigrahas of Hindu Devis & Devatas have been broken. Forget Hindu festivals, Hindus celebrating the Indian Cricket Team’s Champions Trophy victory in ‘Hindu majority Hindustan’ were also attacked by Islamists.
