Hindu man assaulted for refusing to accept Christianity in Kaushambi, UP; was earlier offered bribe and told “Jesus will solve your problems”

Forced conversion has become a biggest challenge for Hindu society, as it is being used as a tool to disintegrate Hindus and destabilize the demographic balance in the country. Numerous states have enacted anti-conversion laws, but still the forced conversion is going on with full force. One such case has bee unearthed in Kaushambi, Uttar Pradesh.

A Hindu man belonging to an SC community has reported that he has been attacked by a person because he refused to accept Christianity. The victim Nandu Lal lodged a formal complaint with the Kaushambi Police, where he submitted that he was approached by a local Sant Lal, who was running a prayer house in his village.

Sant Lal said he runs a ‘Satsang’ (Christian appropriation of term used for Hindu/Dharmic community prayers and discourses), and if you come there all bad spirits will be expelled from your house, and the organization will also give you Rs. 1 lakh aid. When Nand Lal went there, he was given Rs. 1000. On June 1 last year, Sant Lal took Nandu Lal to his home, where he along with his associate Ramchandra pressurized him to convert to Christianity.

When Nand Lal rejected this, Sant Lal became angry and abused him. He threatened to shoot him dead, claiming nobody could stop him. On January 24, the Hindu man bumped into Sant Lal near Punwar village, and the Christian proselytizer again became aggressive and slapped him twice. He again threatened Nand Lal to convert and not ‘act like a neta’.

Upon receiving the complaint, the Kaushambi Police registered the case under the Uttar Pradesh Freedom of Religion Act and arrested the accused.
