Another case of grooming jihad has emerged from Pathari near Haridwar in Uttarakhand, a state known as Devbhoomi. Police arrested a man named Sadiq, posing as a Hindu, for harassing and sexually assaulting a 13-year-old Hindu minor.
Sadiq stalked the young girl, who attends a local school and studies in the eighth standard, for almost 1 year. He introduced himself as a Hindu named Rajat Tyagi, alias Raja and groomed the victim. Both her parents are employed, and Sadiq used it as an opportunity.
Schools remaining closed helped Saqiq, and he used to visit her house and managed to click some intimate pictures of her. He then started blackmailing the minor that if she stopped talking or meeting him, he would post the pictures on social media.
Few days back, he insisted that the girl accompany him, and threatened again to post the pictures and also eliminate both her parents if she complained.
Unable to bear the torture anymore, the minor informed her parents about this exploitation. When the distraught father enquired, he learned that the pedophile was a Muslim named Sadiq posing as a Hindu to trap young Hindu girls. Sadiq is a resident of Chandpur village of Garhwal district in Uttarakhand.
The criminal posted the minor girl’s objectionable photos on Instagram. Local Bajrang Dal volunteers helped the victim’s father register a complaint with the police.
On April 10th, Pathari police station officer Ravindra Kumar confirmed that Sadiq was charged with IPC 354(D) for stalking, 452 for house trespass, 506 for criminal intimidation and Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act sections 11 (iv) and 12 for sexual harassment. Worryingly, we did not see any section for the crime of obtaining sexually explicit photos of the child and sharing the same.
As per an OpIndia report, Sadiq has been arrested.
