Grooming Jihad in Satna, MP

A case of grooming jihad has come to light from Kolgawan, district Satna, Madhya Pradesh. A Muslim man entrapped a young Hindu girl and eloped with her during the night. Her family came to know about the incident in the morning and immediately approached the police.

The local police visited the victim’s home and informed higher authorities. Family members of the accused were summoned for interrogation to the police station and patrol parties started searching for the couple. Soon, this news spread all over the city.

Protests spread and demonstrations of Hindu organizations including the Viswa Hindu Parishad and Bajrang Dal took place outside the police station. Local police assured the Hindu leaders that a search for the couple was underway and that they would be found soon.

Angry locals alleged that the area has become an illicit den for anti-social elements who start assembling every evening. Men spend their time at the street-corner shops and stalls that sell liquor, cigarettes, gutkha and other substances. The din that starts by dusk lasts late into the night.

It becomes dangerous for women and girls to even step out, come nightfall. The accused grooming jihadi was a permanent fixture in this very area. Miscreants come and go at will and this has been going on for quite some time now. Though arguments and incidents of crime have increased exponentially, the district administration has turned a blind eye.
