In an unprecedented incident, a 22-year-old daughter of a government officer was allegedly raped by three men in a car driving in Lucknow. All three suspects have been arrested by the police.
According to a police report filed by the woman, on December 5, this incident happened when she visited the psychiatric ward of the King George Medical University Hospital (KGMU) where she had been visiting for treatment for some time.
She sought help from tea vendor Satyam Mishra. She often visited the tea stall to charge her phone. Mishra took her to an ambulance parked nearby to charge her mobile phone.
However, after some time, she realized that the ambulance was missing and went to search for it along with Mishra, police said, citing the complaint.
Mishra then took her in his car to a dhaba in Barabanki’s Safedabad area, where two other accused were also present. Her three men allegedly forced her to drink a drug-laced drink and raped her in her car before dropping her off in her Indira Nagar area.
An FIR under sections 376(d) (gang rape), 342 (wrongful confinement), 328 (administration of drugs with intent to cause bodily harm) and 323 have been filed on this matter.
(Voluntary) at Wazirganj Police Station, the police announced that they have also applied Section 506 (criminal intimidation) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) against the three suspects. The other two accused were identified as Suhail and Mohd. Aslam.
