Ghaziabad: Nadeem held for axing Asha to death over suspicion of affair with another man

In another shocking incident that appears to be a love jihad case reported in Ghaziabad, a 35-year-old Hindu woman was killed by her “lover,” Nadeem. Nadeem was arrested in Nand Gram for killing the victim with an axe over suspicions of her having an affair with another man, confirmed the police on Tuesday, September 18.

The victim has been identified as Asha, who worked as domestic help and lived alone. During interrogation, Nadeem confessed to having killed her, confirmed city Superintendent of Police Nipun Agarwal. Nadeem told the police that he had met Asha around a year ago and was since infatuated with her. He was also paying her house rent and bearing other expenditures. However, due to her long telephonic conversations with someone, he grew suspicious of her having an affair with someone else.

On Monday, September 17, Nadeem reached Asha’s residence with an axe and a pair of clean clothes to change into after killing her. They had dinner together and went to sleep; at around 3 AM, Nadeem got up and attacked Asha with the axe on her neck while asleep. After killing her, he looked for the things he had gifted her and fled the spot.

The accused had also smashed her mobile phone and hid his blood-stained clothes behind bushes near a temple on the bypass road. The SP shared that the police have recovered the clothes in which the crime was committed. The weapon of the murder and other ornaments of the accused have also been recovered.
