Fish trader Babul Ahmed arrested for raping 12-year-old daughter of his landlord: Assam

Guwahati Police has arrested a 25-year-old man for allegedly raping a 12-year-old girl many times over the course of three months in the Bamunimaidan area in the city.

The accused, Babul Ahmed worked as a fish vendor in the area. He was staying as a tenant at the victim’s place. The heinous incident took place a few months ago at Kushal Nagar in Bamunimaidan area when the minor victim was alone at home as her mother was away for work.

Ahmed took advantage of the situation and raped the minor victim girl and fled to Barpeta soon after.

Upon learning about the incident, the victim’s mother filed a complaint at Chandmari police station in Guwahati. Police has registered a case under appropriate sections and initiated the manhunt. Police finally arrested him from his residence at Baghbar Maharipam village in lower Assam‘s Barpeta district following a prolonged manhunt.
