Firing inside Delhi court, 4 killed

Jailed gangster Jitender Gogi (30) was killed during firing at Delhi’s Rohini court on Friday. It is reported that Gogi was shot dead by rivals dressed as lawyers while being presented at the court.

Police opened return fire at the assailants. At least 3 other people, besides Gogi, have reportedly been killed and a few injured.

Delhi Police Commissioner Rakesh Asthana said that the killers, who belonged to ‘Tillu’ gang, were shot dead by the officers.

Gogi was arrested in April under Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act (MCOCA) by Delhi Police’s Special Cell – there are 19 cases of murder and attempted murder against him, besides dozens of extortions, dacoities, carjackings and robberies. It was found that he was operating freely from behind the bars.
