Bajrang Bali murti vandalized in temple in Damoh, Madhya Pradesh

In Damoh, Madhya Pradesh, an unidentified criminal has vandalized a Bajrang Bali murti. Following this incident, local Hindus are angry and upset. This apparent hate crime took place on April 8, 2023.

According to media reports, the incident took place in the Patera police station area of Damoh. A temple is built here on the farm of Sanjay Paliwal, a resident of Pipariya Sahni village. It has been observed that nearby people have the utmost faith in this temple. The murti of Bajrang Bali is consecrated in this temple along with other deities.

The villagers used to worship here every morning. On Saturday morning, when Raj Kishore Rajput went to worship in the temple, he found the Hanuman murti in a smashed condition. Soon the news spread in and around the village like wildfire. People started reaching the temple and started expressing their disappointment and anger over the incident.

Police arrived at the scene and arrested a couple of locals who live in the close vicinity of the temple. It appears to be a religiously motivated hate crime. Damoh district has emerged as a hub of illegal proselytization and forced conversions, including in Christian-run children homes, by the Christian evangelical mafia in recent times. The role of leading Church figures like Bishop Dr. Ajai Lall has come under the scanner.
