Leaked audio shows Mamata tried to milk death of her Muslim supporters who attacked central forces

Four Trinamool Congress (TMC) supporters who attacked Central Industrial Security Forces (CISF) and tried to snatch away their weapons were shot dead recently in the Cooch Behar district of West Bengal. Now, a leaked audio has emerged in which Mamata Banerjee is heard trying to milk their death asking her leaders to parade the dead bodies.

During the fourth phase of elections, on the 10th of April, a mob numbering 350 armed with sticks and rods attempted booth capturing at Sitalkulchi, a village bordering Bangladesh. The election commission had deployed CISF Jawans inside the polling booth premises to ward off any such threats. Early morning on election day, the criminals indulged in throwing bombs to create confusion. They also blocked the local police deployed outside from entering the compound. The police resorted to a lathi-charge to disperse the unruly elements.

The mob stood their ground and many who entered the polling booth compound started attacking the CISF jawans with rods. When they tried to snatch their firearms, the jawans retaliated to the provocation, shooting dead four. The dead included, Monirujjaman (28), Hamidul Miyan (30), Nur Alma Miyan (21), and Samiul Haque (20).

Mamata Banerjee absurdly claimed that those killed were ‘standing in a queue to vote’ and blamed the central police forces for ‘murdering’ them. What followed is even more shameful and downgrading as far as our much-touted democracy is concerned.

Mamata and Partha Pratim Roy

An audio clip shared by a local journalist of Mamata speaking to a Cooch Behar TMC ex-MP and local leader named Partha Pratim Roy (he lost to the BJP in 2019) emerged on social media. Mamata first asks whether the dead are their party supporters and when Roy confirms the same her tone grows aggressive. Being the CM of the state, rather than arranging for the inquest and handing over the bodies to their relatives, Mamata tried to milk the unfortunate incident by asking Roy to arrange a political rally with those very dead bodies!

This is what she advises,

“Partha, cast your vote first and then we will sit and decide. I will get everyone arrested, including CRPF. Keep all the dead bodies. We will take out a rally with the corpses. Tomorrow, there will be a rally with the dead bodies. Tell their families that the dead bodies can’t be handed over to them. Everything will be fine. Cast your vote and keep calm. They are doing this so that you cannot cast your vote. File an FIR. Hire a lawyer and don’t do it yourself. I will tell the family members to file FIR after the election. Even police won’t take any statement of the family members now”.

We have to file a strong case in consultation with a lawyer. So that everyone can be framed, including their command zone, SP, and even the IC. Now, keep calm and vote. Keep strength to our polling agents. Go to the booths and tell people that the security personnel did this so that people are afraid to cast their vote. (Tell that) they (BJP) are doing this to implement NPR and build detention camps.”

If this is not a conspiracy against democracy, our security forces, and the election commission, then what is? Why doesn’t she learn that the loss of lives of both TMC workers and opposition cadre are the same, as far as their families are concerned? Such cynical use of dead bodies and spread of misinformation is done by terrorists in Kashmir, and it is no wonder that our left-liberals and secular leaders are now imitating the same.

The insinuation of NPR and detention camps clearly indicates illegal Bangladeshi infiltrator presence in the area. That Mamata tried to whip up passions against our central armed forces and the BJP workers is also pretty obvious from her own words. This is also apparent when one considers the unprecedented violence that has marred the 2021 West Bengal assembly elections, and indeed all elections prior to this conducted under Mamata’s watch.

The Cooch Behar SP has made it clear that CISF jawans retaliated in self-defense against a huge mob who tried to snatch their weapons, forcing them to open fire. Mamata addressing a rally two days prior to this incident had openly asked her supporters to ‘gherao’ our security forces and prevent them from performing their duty. Exactly what her cadre did. Doesn’t this make her a conspirator?

PM Narendra Modi, speaking at a rally in Siliguri, hit out at Mamata Banerjee for instigating common citizens against central forces and appealed to the Election Commission to punish those behind the violence. He added that unable to manipulate votes and intimidate voters, the TMC is now resorting to attacking our security forces. He added that special training and instructions were being provided to the unruly elements in the TMC cadre to indulge in violence especially against our armed forces. He reminded Mamata that our forces who face terrorists and Naxals will not be cowed down by such criminals.

From the first phase of this year’s assembly polls, the public mood seems to suggest that the people of Bengal are fed up with Mamata and the TMC. Mamata’s alleged plan was to let her goons attack the forces deployed for security so that others could indulge in booth capturing. That plan does not seem to be working for Mamata, for now. This is also an insight into her 10-year rule.

The BJP meanwhile knows and understands the vile threats our country faces and the importance of power in states that border hostile Muslim majority neighbors like Pakistan and Bangladesh.
