Assam: Theft in the Aginava Shiva temple, Arif Ali arrested

The Railway Police arrested a Muslim youth named Arif Ali in the case of a theft in Agninava temple. The police also recovered stolen items from the accused youth. Another accused is still absconding. 

The Agninava temple is situated in Nazira town of Shivsagar district of Assam. The temple is a famous Shiva temple. 

On the night of 28th November, Thursday, unknown miscreants entered inside the Agninava temple situated in Nazira town. Gold Murti of Bhagwan Shiva, all the gold and silver ornaments and a gold Trishul were stolen. 

Soon after the incident, the temple committee filed a complaint. The Police and other law enforcement agencies launched a search operation. Also, the Railway Police was alerted. On the morning of 29th of November, Friday, the Railway Police detained two youths at Simaluguri railway station. During the search, the officials recovered gold Shiva Murti and other things which were stolen from the Agninava temple. During that time, one youth fled. But, the police managed to arrest another youth. 

As per the reports, the arrested youth has been identified as Arif Ali, a resident of Titabor town. As of now, the authorities have been continuing the search operations to nab the other accused.
