Serious concerns and reactions have been coming from netizens after frequent cases of trafficking in different districts of Assam.
After reports of teenage girls going missing earlier this month, another case of suspected case human trafficking came to light from the Silchar of Assam.
As per the reports, an agency of Silchar took 30 girls from different parts of the Barak Valley to Delhi. The agency promised the girls to give them nursing jobs in Delhi and Haryana. The agency also allegedly gave the girls training in nursing.
But to their utter shock, on February 15, after being taken to Delhi, the agency kept them at a hostel in a red light area in Kapashera, Delhi.
Although 19 girls managed to escape, the whereabouts of the rest of the girls are still unknown.
A girl said, “The hostel in which we were kept was in a red light area. From there, we were shifted to another place. We all went there. But half of us were kept in Haryana, and the rest were kept in Ghaziabad. We suspected that we would be sold off.”
Earlier this month, two young girls from Jorhat district of Assam. Later, the Police rescued them from Bihar.
Before that, two young girls went missing from Guwahati. Later the Police recovered them. The rescued girls told the police that they were promised a well-paid job in Hyderabad.
