Arms suppliers to Khalistani terrorists arrested in Delhi by Special Cell

A Delhi Police special cell arrested Bablu Singh and Rajendra Singh Barnala who were supplying arms to Khalistani terrorists. Police found 18 pistols and 60 live cartridges concealed in their bags and also seized cell phones used for the illegal sale. This is a new inter-state racket that was using social media to sell weapons.

The special cell DCP, Sanjeev Yadav said that those arrested were under surveillance for the past three months and were active on Khalistani internet media pages. The arms suppliers were from Khargone, MP and were arrested from Delhi’s Rohini last night. Interrogation revealed that the weapons were manufactured in Khargone and supplied to other states including Delhi, Punjab, Rajasthan, Haryana and Jharkhand using virtual numbers.

One more accused is on the run and on average the gun runners were selling 100-125 weapons every month. The police are yet to ascertain what types of weapons other than the pistols that these criminals were dealing in. Apart from the supporters of Khalistan, the accused used to provide arms and ammunition to the notorious gangsters like Lawrence Bishnoi, Aman Sahu etc. of Delhi-NCR.

Rajendra said that the manufacturing of weapons is an ancestral profession in Barwani, Burhanpur, Dhar and Khargone of Madhya Pradesh. Many in these villages are engaged in the manufacture of illegal weapons by melting brass in furnaces and using molds. The recovered pistols cost around seven thousand rupees to manufacture which were then sold for 25 to 50 thousand rupees.
