A Hindu woman Shivli (32) who converted to Islam and became Rukhsana Bano for her second marriage, has died. She allegedly hung herself on the morning of January 18 in the South Kakarmatta area, which comes under the Manduadih police station of Varanasi district, UP.
As per reports, Shamsher Khan met Shivli, a resident of West Bengal, on social media two years ago. They soon started exchanging messages. Khan had a garment business and frequently visited West Bengal for work. Whenever he went, he would meet Shivli as well. After some time, they decided to get married. Khan’s condition was that she would have to convert to Islam, become Rukhsana Bano, and do a nikah. Not just Shivli, but even her father Kashinath converted to Islam and became Zahir!
After their marriage, Khan closed his garment business and both moved to Varanasi where they started living with his extended family in South Kakarmatta.

As per Armaan Khan, brother-in-law of the deceased woman, Shamsher Khan had gone to a party the previous night. At 11:00 pm, Shivli aka Rukhsana called her husband and asked him to come home, but Shamsher did not return home till several hours later. Upset with his wanton ways, she went to sleep in her room.
When Shamsher returned home around 3 am, his brother Armaan opened the door, and then both went to sleep. When Armaan woke up for namaz at around 4.30 am, he claims he saw that the door leading to the storeroom and bathroom was closed. He knocked on the door many-a-times but there was no response. Fearing an untoward incident, he woke up the rest of the family members.
It is then that Armaan says he saw Shivli hanging from a saree on a noose with the help of a hook in the wall. The family claim they broke the door and brought her down but she was dead by then. They then reported the incident to the police, who came and sent the body for a postmortem.
According to the police, when Shamsher Khan returned home from the party at around 4.30 am on Wednesday, he had a fierce fight with his wife on this matter. Fed up with her husband’s behavior, Shivli/Rukhsana went to the bathroom, made a noose there, and hung herself, claim police.
The relatives of the woman in West Bengal were informed about the incident. Rukhsana had a 5-year-old daughter from her first husband, and a one and a half old year son Sohail with her second husband Shamsher Khan.

Even if he did not kill shivli he must be booked for abetment to suicide and domestic cruelty. Such bastards must be dealt with harshly.
