50-year-old Aslam Khan arrested in Ranchi for marrying 7 times, hiding his name and religion

Jharkhand’s Bokaro Police arrested a 50-year-old man in Ranchi for marrying seven times and having physical relations with a minor. The accused identified as Aslam Khan did not reveal his religion and identity to the girls he married.

As per the police, Aslam Khan has a criminal history and has been accused of committing multiple crimes in the past. He hails from Bhuli in Dhanbad, where he used to introduce himself as Police officer Sanjay Kasera and used to target minor girls, especially from the janjatiya communities. He was absconding for two months and was taken to Bokaro from Ranchi on Friday.

Two months ago, the police tried to arrest Aslam Khan while he was marrying a minor girl. On December 8, 2022, Aslam disguised himself as a police officer by wearing a uniform and marrying a minor Hindu girl. The police in Harla received input that he was trying to get married to a minor girl, but Aslam fled the spot before police arrived.

Deputy SP Kuldeep Kumar said multiple cases were registered against Aslam in Ranchi, Chas, Dhanbad, and Topchanchi. He was also sent to jail in 2021 in connection with a case lodged against him in Chas. The investigating officers also stated that Aslam had extorted money from many locals by pretending to be a police officer.

Police were trying to nab him for quite some time but faced challenges in tracking his whereabouts but finally managed to arrest him after gathering information. Police arrested him from Ranchi where he was living under a different name – Saddam.
