Three Khalistan supporters were recently arrested in Punjab. Patiala Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Harcharan Singh Bhullar said two persons, identified as Jagmeet Singh and Ravinder Singh, were arrested for preaching in favour of Khalistan at a place near Banur area.

They were visiting various religious and public places and distributing some registration forms to people to vote for a referendum to form Khalistan, he said. The pro-Khalistan  material was being provided by Jagmeet Singh’s mother Jasveer Kaur and she was also arrested, the SSP said, adding that a large quantity of pro-Khalistan material was recovered from the possession of the accused.

Bhullar said initial interrogation of the accused revealed that the kingpin of the gang was Jasveer Kaur and her husband Kuldeep Singh who works as a superintendent at Punjab  Roadways.

The SSP said Jasveer Kaur’s brother-in-law Manjit Singh was the area commander of the terrorist organisation Babbar Khalsa International (Sukhdev Babbar Group). Jasveer Kaur, Jagmeet Singh and Ravinder Singh were produced in a court which sent them to six-day police custody. It is not known if Kuldeep Singh has been arrested as yet.

There is clear evidence of heavy radicalization in Punjab today. There was ample evidence of pro-Khalistan sentiments during the lawless protests against the essential legislation that would have transformed our agricultural sector. It was due to the secessionist threat posed by these radicals, and those who hid their true intentions behind language of protest to perpetuate their feudal, entitled control, that the farm laws had to be revoked. The havoc unleashed during the January 26, 2021 tractor rally, and the brutal murder of Lakbhir Singh, a poor Scheduled Caste laborer, at the Singhu protest site is still raw in people’s minds.

Unfortunately, several gurudwaras in the border state are also feared to be in control of pro-Khalistani elements today. The brutal ‘blasphemy’ lynching of a poor vagabond looking for food in a Kapurthala gurudwara is a grim reminder of how holy places can be hijacked by extremist elements – after all, the terrorist Bhindranwale and his cronies had also captured and made the Golden Temple their base.

Notably, the US-based Sikhs for Justice (SFJ), a banned Khalistani terrorist group, has been pushing for a referendum on Khalistan as part of its separatist agenda.

The UK government, which claims to be an ‘ally’ of Bharat and is a member of the Quad security alliance, allowed SFJ to carry out a referendum on the secession of Punjab on October 31.

While the so-called referendum held in downtown London turned out to be a damp squib, NSA Ajit Doval made it clear to his UK counterpart that Bharat takes strong exception to the UK allowing a referendum on its affairs by weaponising a minuscule section of the Bharatiya diaspora.

“The Modi government conveyed its serious concern that the UK government is turning a blind eye to the open radicalisation of the Indian diaspora by Sikh banned groups to promote their secessionist agenda. Under the influence and support of the Pakistani deep state, the Sikh radicals have been holding protests on the three farm laws and punitively participating in anti-India activities in the UK. Despite the SFJ being a banned organization in India since 2019 and its leader Gurpatwant Singh Pannu being declared a terrorist, the UK allowed the US-based extremist organisation to conduct an illegal referendum on the Indian Punjab.

“….bilateral ties with the UK have been derailed by London playing an adversarial role against India when it comes to Afghanistan, Pakistan, Kashmir, and the so-called Khalistan issue. In this context, the role played by UK Chief of Defence Staff Nick Carter, who called Taliban terrorist country boys with code of honour, in the now failed Doha peace process stands out singularly.

Although India and the United Kingdom have been strategic partners since 2004, the UK role in tacitly supporting Pakistan in the multi-lateral fora on abrogation of Articles 370 and 35 A in Jammu and Kashmir on August 5, 2019, has been noted with concern by the Modi government.”

Another Quad ‘partner’, USA, has failed to take action against the US-based Khalistanis who are openly challenging Bharat’s sovereignty. The fourth member of the Quad, Australia, also failed to act against Khalistani elements who recently trapped Bharatiya youth Vishal Jood in an assault case.

Canada, the fourth member of the Anglosphere which takes it cues on foreign affairs from USA, is the hub of Khalistani separatism among the Bharatiya diaspora – radical pro-Khalistani elements have even managed to infiltrate the top echelons of Canadian government.
