2 Muslim youth arrested for molesting Korean YouTuber in Mumbai

Two youth, Mobeen Chand Mohammad Shaikh (19) and Mohammad Naqeeb Sadrealam Ansari (20), have been arrested for molesting a Korean woman YouTuber who was doing a live stream in Khar suburb of Mumbai.

Khar Police registered an FIR u/s 354 IPC and arrested both of them. The police swung into action only after a video had gone viral on social media on Wednesday, in which the woman was being sexually harassed by the accused. In the video, the man can be seen holding her hand and pulling her towards his parked two-wheeler. The woman resists and says she cannot sit because of her dress. Then the man tries to high-five her, draws close, puts a hand around her neck and tries to kiss her.

The woman loudly says, “No, no, no…” and starts walking away. A moment later the man along with his friend on a bike can be seen approaching the woman again, and he asks her to come with them. She somehow manages to extricate herself, saying her house is close by.

“A Twitter user had shared the video, he claimed the woman was from South Korea and she was live-streaming when the incident took place on Tuesday. He had also tagged the Mumbai Police in the video. Investigations revealed that the incident had taken place in Khar,” an official said.

Taking suo moto cognizance of the case, the Nirbhaya Squad of the Mumbai Police traced and arrested the suspects, who have been sent to one-day police custody.

The woman later tweeted, “Last night on stream, there was a guy who harassed me. I tried my best not to escalate the situation and leave because he was with his friend. And some people said that it was initiated by me being too friendly and engaging in the conversation. Makes me think again about streaming”.

“It happened to me in another country too but at that time I couldn’t do anything to call Police. In India, action being taken very quickly. I’ve been in Mumbai for over 3 weeks, planning to stay longer….I’m not going to let one bad incident ruin my entire travel. I met some amazing Indian people. I still want to discover and show the beautiful aspect of India to the world,” the S Korean YouTuber Hyojeong Park, who was harassed in Mumbai while live streaming, told media later.

Selective silence of Hinduphobic elites

Many netizens slammed the two accused Muslim youth for harassing a female tourist and harming Bharat’s reputation. But while this incident has received wide coverage and invited suo motu action from police, far worse incidents involving ordinary Hindu girls often get buried by English-language mainstream media (ELM). Very often, police too displays shocking apathy to complaints by poor Hindu families.

One of the most shocking episodes of molestation took place in Rampur in western UP in 2017, an incident that was initially played up by ELM to run down the Yogi government, but who later went quiet after it emerged that the 14 perpetrators were Muslim youth, including minors.

Our elites have created a taboo against discussing the religious indoctrination that drives Muslim youth to regard non-hijab wearing girls as ‘immoral’ and ‘provocative’. If annual crime reports were to record the religious identity of perpetrators (like UK is planning in order to tackle the menace of British-Pakistan grooming gangs) and police started maintaining a sex offenders registry, the true picture of sexual crimes in this country would emerge.

A few days back, two 15-year-old girls returning home from tuition in Andheri, Mumbai were sexually harassed by two Muslim men, Salman Qureshi and Zeeshan, who chased the girls’ auto-rickshaw in a Mercedes car. In Bengaluru, Rapido bike taxi driver Shahabuddin took a woman passenger to his home and gang-raped her along with his friend and Akhtar who works in a mobile shop. In Aurangabad, a minor girl returning from tuition jumped out of a moving auto after the driver Syed Akbar Hameed passed lewd comments and tried to molest her.

The Khar-Bandra area is considered a posh part of Mumbai, but such molestations are not new. In 2017, Zibran Shafi Sayyed was arrested for molesting about 40 women in and around Bandra. Sayyed had been arrested previously in a rape case but got out on bail in just 3 months.
