The seamy history of some of Bharat’s top business families and their dubious Anglo-Western connections

Do you know Tata and other prominent Parsi businessmen have started their businesses by selling Drugs (Opium)? Let me tell you some of the hidden histories and I promise you will be shocked to see this hidden history! Let’s Start.

In the 18th century while many freedom fighters were fighting against the East India Company, 26 Parsee businessmen along with 26 British and 21 American merchants were working with the East India Company to smuggle opium (Drugs) into China via Hong Kong.

Two Prominent Parsi families involved in the trade of opium were Jamsetjee Jejeebhoy and Ratanji Dadabhoy Tata.

Jamsetjee Jejeebhoy received a Knighthood in 1842 and He has received the award of a baronetcy for his service to British Empire in 1857. Unfortunately, in the same year 1857, Rani Laxmi bai and other freedom fighters tried and failed to get freedom from the Britishers!

According to the terms of the Award of a baronetcy, When a baronet dies, the title is passed on to his son. The name remains the same just like the Kings of EU countries. Here is the List of Jamsetjee Jejeebhoy baronets.

Sonoo Commissariat, Mother of current Tata Sons chairman Ratan Tata first got married to Naval Tata and gave birth to Ratan Tata. Later after divorced she got married to Sir Jamsetjee Jejeebhoy, 6th Baronet, Cowasjee (1909–1968) and she became Lady Jamsetjee Jejeebhoy!

As the business of drugs was not acceptable in society, these people started to build schools, colleges, and Hospitals to build their image as philanthropists. They have started a few newspapers and donated a few others and that press had helped them in image building!

This is a painting of Jamsetji Jejeebhoy’s house. What can you see on the top?

This group of Britishers, Parsees, American, and German people doing business of Opium and other things started a bank called HSBC in Hong Kong, London, and Mumbai. Rothchild was a director of HSBC too!

In the same period Tata and other Parsi families started banks in Bharat too. For Example The Bank of India.

In the USA, Morgan started JP Morgan & Co and Rockefeller started The Chase Manhattan Bank. Both of them got merged in the year 2000 and became JP Morgan Chase.

Let me take you forward now. In 1979, Rockefeller hosted a party. Guests were part of the international advisory committee of Rockefeller’s’ Chase Bank. Henry Kissinger was there with people like JRD Tata, President of Ford motors, and CIA Director!

Current chairman of Tata Sons, Ratan Tata is a member of the JP Morgan International Council.

In October 2019, the Team of this JP Morgan council arranged their meeting in Bharat and they also meet with PM Modi. Which PM can refuse to meet a team which is headed by people like Ratan Tata?

Now meet Naina Lal Kidwai. She was VC and head of Investment at JP Morgan and Morgan Stanley India from 1994 to 2000. It was Morgan Stanley that saved Infosys when their IPO was under-subscribed. In fact, she has helped Wipro and Infosys both when they needed financial support.

Naina Kidwai has helped to create a joint venture between AT&T, Birla, and Tata which we know as Idea Cellular! She also helped Bharti tele-ventures which we know now as Airtel.

UPA government has appointed Rothschild India as an independent auctioneer for selling 3G Spectrum.

After Serving in many positions at HSBC (You must remember who started it), Naina Kidwai got appointed at Rothschild India as senior adviser and member of the board.

In March 2008, Narayan Murthy was appointed as an independent director at HSBC. Interestingly, In the same year, Narayan Murthy was also appointed as a trustee of the Ford Foundation for six years. Before him, Ratan Tata was a trustee of the Ford Foundation!

Now Meet Vidya Shah. She was Vice president on telecom advisory in Rothschild India From the year 1998 to 2000. She is the wife of Ramesh Shah. He is the founder of the Edelweiss group Later, Vidya Shah Joined his husband’s financial company as a CFO.

In the year 2007, Vidya Shah started an NGO EdelGive Foundation. Do you know who are the donors? It’s Bill Gates, Ford Foundation, JP Morgan, and others. Interestingly, Vidya Shah was selected for Bellagio Residents program by Rockefeller Foundation.

I have Found two interesting names on the board of EdelGive First name is Kunal Shroff. He is the founding partner of ChrysCapital Yes, the Same ChrysCapital whose other founder Ashish Dhawan was the founding trustee of IPSMF, and now he is part of the Bill Gates Foundation.

Second interesting name on the Board of Edelgive Foundation is Rati Forbs. She is the director of the Forbes Marshall Group. Interestingly, her group also funds IPSMF!

Recently Bill Gates was in Bharat and he has access to the RBI governor. Many of us were surprised to see it and were clueless. Do you know he also funds Tata trust? Bill Gates and Omidyar gave crores to Tata Trust! Why does Tata need foreign donations?

Ajay Parimal, Chairman of Parimal Group and Pratham NGO is a Non-executive director Of Tata Trust! Interestingly, Parimal Group is also a donor to IPSMF, and the CEO of Pratham NGO, Mrs. Rukmini Banerji is the trustee of IPSMF!

If you will check the people which are donating to IPSMF you can clearly see that most people belong to IT and Pharma and Infrastructure business houses which are connected and seat on each other’s boards and many others belong to colonial Parsi businesses families.

Now Meet, Sanjay Bhandarkar. He was a founding member of Rothschild India in 1998 and he served as an MD of Rothschild India till 2015. Now he is serving as senior advisor to Rothschild India. He was also the director of Rothschild Middle East!

Interestingly, Mr. Sanjay also serves as an independent director at Tata Power, Tata Projects, Tata Power renewables, and HDFC assets!

Here is a short documentary on Rothschild. After the death of JP Morgan, it was revealed that most of his business belongs to Rothschild. JP Morgan has just 19% of the ownership.

Please note I am not concluding anything here. All the above information is available on the open source internet. You know why I am saying this!

I forgot to add other interesting fact. All Three companies Tata, Infosys and Wipro provide service to the ecosystem of Digital governance. From the GST website to the Income tax website From Passport service to Internal banking software. You name it any government service and you will find these names only!
